In the last century, donkeys were used to do all our ‘donkey work’! With no cars available, it was the donkeys who transported all our goods from here to there and over some of the most inaccessible terrain.... Why? Because they are perfectly adapted to hard work – unlike us!

So, why not take advantage of that while you explore the beautiful valleys and mountains of Champsaur and Valgaudemar.

Walk and even camp in the mountains with friends or family without worrying about the weight of your rucksack! Let the donkeys carry your kit while you enjoy the views.

You can go for a full day or go right into the mountains for a 2 - 3 day trek, with the donkeys carrying all your food and camping equipment.

We can adapt a programme to suit you, whether you are 6 or 60, an experienced walker or a total beginner!!

For seasoned walkers or those wanting a bit more of an adventure we have a 7 day trek, taking you right off the beaten track through the dramatic mountains of Ecrin National Park.

Step back in time and re-live the life of your ancestors.... Before you set off you can help Eric, the guide, to prepare the donkeys... shoe, brush and load them with baggage. And during the trek you can help him lead and take charge of the donkeys.

For all our walking with donkeys treks you will be with Eric, a professional donkey handler and mountain leader. He will keep you safe whilst showing you where the wildlife is hiding out and telling you fascinating facts about the history of the Champsaur and Valgaudemar valleys.
