There are numerous options for self catering in the valley. We have chosen our favourites to show you, but if none of these take your fancy or they are full, we can easily find an alternative.And, to avoid the nightmare of there being nothing to eat in your fridge with all the shops closed when you arrive, we can get your first shop in for you. Just tell us what you want and we'll make sure it's waiting for you when you arrive. It'll cost you just £15 or €20 plus the cost of the shopping.

They are based in the village of Chaillol - the sunny side of the valley, close to ski runs and fantastic walks right from your door. Perfect for basking in the sunshine whilst taking in the magnificent views.

It is situated on the edge of the river Drac just outside the medieval village of St Bonnet.
There are four bedrooms, two double roms and two rooms with three single beds upstairs. The living area downstairs is gorgeous with a large open plan kithcen diner and archway through to the cosy living room with open fire. There are two bathrooms with bath and showers and outside you have your own private garden.
It is fully equipped with all kitchen utensils and cooking facilities (including things you wouldn't even have thought of like a raclette set!). There's microwave, oven, dishwasher.....
It's perfect for a large family or group of friends who want peace and quiet but aren't too far away from all the action and who appreciate nice houses!
Rentals are from Saturday to Saturday.

The house is well decorated and has all mod cons. It sleeps a family of five comfortably in two bedrooms and there is also space for extra people on the sofa beds downstairs. You have your own private garden with barbeque and children's play equipment.
Half way down the Champsaur valley it is ideally situated for both summer and winter activities, with a short drive to the ski villages and Orcieres 1850, walking and mountain biking straight from the door and water and other summer activities only a short drive away.

They overlook the jardin des piou piou so for families with little ones, you couldn't get a more perfect location.
Have a look at the map of Orcieres
in square I19 to see exactly where it is.
The apartments are reasonably spacious for skiing apartments and there is also the added luxury of a sauna and fitness room onsite.
Toni and Sylvie who run the residences are local to Orcieres and are very friendly and helpful. They will look after you during your stay!
All the apartments have a balcony and are furnished with a fridge, hob, combination microwave oven, dishwasher and a full set of kitchen utensils and crockery.
A free covered parking space is also available - one per apartment and there are laundry facilities in the residence.
There are four different sized apartments - all with open plan living areas which vary in size according to their capacity:
Four person with two rooms
These have an open plan living area with a pull out bed for two people as well as a separate bedroom with twin or double beds.
Six person with two rooms
These have a pull out bed for two people in the living area, a cordoned off area from the corridor with bunk beds and a separate bedroom for two people.
Six person with three rooms
Theseare the same as the six person with two rooms apartments except that the bunk bed room is a proper bedroom and a bit larger.
Eight person with four rooms
These have a pull out bed for two people in the living area and then three bedrooms with double or twin beds.

Have a look at the map of Orcieres
in square F18 to see exactly where it is.
All the apartments are decorated in a chalet style and have a hob, oven, dish washer, microwave, fridge, TV and there's a lift and laundry service in the building.
There's a bar, an excellent waitress service restaurant and relaxing area with open fire in the building and you have all the facilities of the resort within walking distance including the swimming pool, jacuzzi and ice skating.
It's possible to book self catering or a half or full board option.
There are four types of apartment:
Studio- 24 square metres.
These have a a double sofa bed in the living area as well as an area cordoned off with two bunk beds. The living area is open plan with kitchen, dining table and lounge area. There's a bathroom with a separate toilet and a balcony,
4 person with 2 rooms - 30 square metres
This is the same as the studio except that it has a separate bedroom with either a double or 2 single beds instead of the bunk bed area. There is still the pull out bed for two people in the main living area.
6 person with 2 rooms - 40 - 45 square metres
This is the same as above but a bit bigger with a cordoned off area for two bunk beds in addition to the bedroom.
8 person with 3 rooms - 51 square metes
These are really lovely apartments and there are two varieties - one two floor apartment with a mezzanine area that sleeps two people, two double bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living area and the other is all on one level. There are two bathrooms in this apartment.

There are a variety of different sizes of apartments from 2 /3 people to 8 people. They are newly built and nicely decorated inside. The apartments are quite small so it is worth going up a size for the number of people you are - then you have plenty of room.
All the apartments have exclusive use of a heated and covered swimming pool which is beautiful with views of the mountains all around.

There are 72 apartments of varying sizes and a sauna (carries an extra charge per use), fitness room and lounge area with open fire all onsite.
Each apartment has an open plan living area with fully equipped kitchen: hob, combination microwave oven, firdge and dishwasher. TV carries an extra charge. All have a ski locker, balcony and
bathroom with either a shower or bath and most have a separate toilet.
The apartment sizes are as follows:
4 people - 26 - 30 square metres
These have an open plan living area with sofa bed and eiother a bedroom or cabin room with either double , twin or bunk beds.
5 people - 35 - 38 square metres
These are the same layout as the four persons but a little larger with an extra pull out single bed in the living area.
6 people - 38 - 43 square metres
These have a sofa bed in the living area and either two bedrooms (double or twin beds) or one bedroom and cabin room (bunk beds). Some have an extra toilet and shower.
7 people - 45 - 53 square metres
These are the same layout as the 6 person except the cabin room has three beds in it. Some have an extra toilet and shower.
8 people - 55 - 65 square metres
This has a living room with a sofa bed, 1 or 2 bedrooms with double or twin beds, 1 bedroom or alcove with 2 single or bunk beds or 1 alcove with 2 single and bunk beds.Most have an extra shower and toilet. Some apartments are on two floors.
9 people - 67 square metres
These have a sofa bed in the living room plus an extra pull out bed, 1 double bedroom, 2 bedrooms or cabin rooms with bunk beds or twin beds and 2 bathroms (one bath and one shower) and toilets.

Ecrins residences
The Ecrins residences
There are a variety of different sized apartments, all kitted out with a hob, microwave oven and fridge freezer plusa full set of kitchen crockery and utensils. All the apartments have a balcony and a ski locker.
The real plus for these apartments is the onsite restaurant which spills out onto the edge of the piste!
The apartments are reasonably small and if filled to capacity a bit cramped but fine if you upgrade to a slightly bigger apartment.
2 roomed apartment for 4 people
This has a separate bedroom and a sofa bed in the open plan living room.
2 roomed apartment for 6
This is slightly larger than the 4 person apartment with the addition of a cabin room or alcove with bunk beds.
3 roomed apartment for 8
This is slightly larger again but with two bedrooms (with four beds in one room) and a living area witha sofa bed.
